After having received basic definitions of project management functions, students are taught how to make practical use of this knowledge. This process focuses mainly on defining the tasks of the project manager and the roles of the other members of project teams as well as the most important project management tools and project management methods. The course covers what a project is, the types of project which exist as well as capacity planning, resource planning and cost planning, project organization, IT-supported project documentation and the resulting project manual.
Specific aspects of IT-based and web-based projects are highlighted and contrasted during the course.
